Fear of aging. Loss of vitality. Brittle bones. Hot flashes, fragile and unpredictable emotions, and a low libido. It’s little wonder that menopause looms ominously in the lives of women. Must this time of life be only suffered through and endured? Or is this too an opportunity for growth and-dare it be said-joy? Can a solid yoga and meditation practice create calm from this chaos?
On Saturday, September 13th, Midtown Yoga teacher Leslie Jones leads a workshop exploring the possibility of creating calm from the chaos of menopause. The first part of the workshop will consider the nature———-and misconceptions—of menopause and how we might more peacefully navigate this natural life passage. Leslie will then lead a vinyasa-style class, blending in poses that can help women counter the negative affects of menopause. The workshop will close with a short period of restorative poses specifically designed to address menopausal issues. Please come to the workshop prepared to practice yoga.
